Quick As A Wink Theatre Society, located in Windsor, is seeking qualified, energetic, and passionate applicants to fill the following position: Summer Theatre Camp Program Facilitator and PR Representative

 

Employment Length:

May – Mid. August 2017, grant funding pending

 

Qualifications

  • must be a student enrolled in a post-secondary institution for 2017-2018
  • experience coaching and working with students
  • experience organizing and facilitating lesson plans and/or programs for youth
  • grade 7 RCM (or equivalent) in piano performance
  • post-secondary studies in theatre, dance, and/or music or  equivalent experiences
  • excellent communication skills and basic computer skills
  • must be reliable and posses excellent organization skills
  • must have strong leadership qualities and great interpersonal skills

 

Public Relations:

  • Greet and engage visitors in conversations about Quick As A Wink Theatre Society
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Committee to prepare and assist in promotional tasks that encourage and inform the public on available theatre opportunities within QAAW
  • Collaborate with the Communications Committee to promote Quick As A Wink Theatre Society through social media, print media, phone conversations, radio, person to person communications, and build and maintain the membership database
  • To invest time in fundraising efforts and network with local business to encourage financial partnership
  • Work during the first full weekend in August (August 4 - 6 will be West Hants Summer Fest)

 

Summer Youth Theatre Program Facilitator:

  • Work with youth ages 8-12 (July 10 -July 14) and youth ages 12-17 (July 24-Aug 4) as a program  facilitator in the “Page to Stage” Summer Youth Theatre Camp Program
  • Work during the first full weekend in August (August 4 - 6 will be West Hants Summer Fest)
  • Plan, rehearse, and execute educational activities and games relating to personal theatrical skill development and live-theatre productions
  • Assist in the development and planning of the rehearsal process, culminating theatrical performance; one production for youth ages- 8-12 and one production for youth ages 12-17 on the last day of the camp
  • Assist in the production and presentation of the play

 

Additional Requirements:

  • A final report summarizing all the activities and objectives of the employment, as well as the outcomes that were seen as a result from the work done with QAAW
  • Submission of daily reports outlining task accomplishment and goal setting for work with QAAW
  • Performing Arts training and experience is an asset
  • First Aid is an asset
